Disney Hotstar New web series Dil Bekarar tells story of crazy Thakur family set in charming & beautiful 80s

In a hi tech age where social media sites like Facebook,  Twitter and Instagram has become the new medium of communication, Disney Hotstar is set to present a  new web series Dil Bekarar that will transport viewers into the Charming, uncomplicated and beautiful life of the 80s era .

The new web series,  which will be streamed on Disney Hotstar from November 26, will unravel the day to day life of the Thakur family as they battle their ideological conflicts in the times of telegrams, telephones, and Gold-spot; to the tunes of RD Burman, Nazia Hassan, and Hum Log.

Based on Anuja Chauhan 's best selling novel Those Pricey Thakur Girls , Dil Bekarar will take viewers through the crazy, sweet and sour life of the Thakur family,  set  in Lutyens Delhi in the 80s.

Produced by Sobo Films, Dil Bekarar  is about Justice Laxmi Narayan Thakur and his wife Mamta and their five beautiful but troublesome daughters.

Featuring veteran actors Raj Babbar and Poonam Dhillon with Akshay Oberoi and Sahher Bambba, Dil Bekarar is a light hearted drama series that unravels the day to day life of the Thakur family ' Justice Laxmi Narayan Thakur,  his wife Mamta and their five beautiful but troublesome daughters.

The trailer of Dil Bekarar,  unveiled by Disney Hotstar,  provides viewers a peek into the crazy life of the Thakur family with Justice Laxmi Narayan Thakur and his wife Mamta spending their days watching anxiously over their five beautiful (but troublesome daughters,  each one of them having their own tantrums and their own style.

The most mature of the Thakur girls is Debjani Thakur (Sahher Bambba) , who works as a news anchor.  The trailer takes viewers through the sweet and sour love story of Debjani,  nicknamed Dabbu, with a journalist,  played by Akshay Oberoi.

Directed by Habib Faisal,  who has made highly acclaimed films like DO Dooni Chaar, Dil Bekarar features Raj Babbar as Justice Laxmi Narayan Thakur and Poonam Dhillon as his wife Mamta.

The trailer of the series  provides viewers a peek into the charm, beauty and romance of simpler times of the 80s.

Dil Bekarar is set in the graceful colonial Delhi, struggling to shed the past, excitedly looking forward to a liberalized future.

Talking about the series, director Habib Faisal  said, “We envisioned Dil Bekaraar as a series that transports the 2020s audience to 1980s, not only to enjoy the charm, grace, and simplicity of the bygone era; but also for a better understanding of ourselves as a society in present times. We are excited to bring this one-of-a-kind concept on Disney+ Hotstar.”

Brought out by Harper Collins,  Anuja Chauhan's novel Those Pricey Thakur Girls is the story of Justice Laxmi Narayan Thakur and his wife Mamta and then five beautiful but troublesome daughters.

Living in the sprawling bungalow on New Delhi's posh Hailey Road, Justice Laxmi Narayan Thakur and his wife Mamta spend their days watching anxiously over their five beautiful (but troublesome) alphabetically named daughters.Anjini, Binodini, Chandrakanta, Eshwari and Debjani.

While Anjini is married but an incorrigible flirt; Binodini is very worried about her children's hissa in the family property. The third daughter is Chandrakanta, who eloped with a foreigner on the eve of her wedding; while the fourth daughter is Eshwari, who is just a little too popular at Modern School, Barakhamba Road; and the Judge's favourite. The fifth daughter is the quietly fiery Debjani, champion of all the stray animals on Hailey Road, who reads the English news on DD.

Disney Hotstar had last week unveiled the teaser of the web series.
