Sahher Bambba grabbing eyeballs as forward looking woman of the 80s in new web series Dil Bekarar

After impressing audiences with her portrayal of the graceful and dignified wife of Mughal Emperor Babar in The Empire,  Actress Sahher Bambba is now grabbing eyeballs as Debjani Thakur,  the progressive and forward looking woman of the 80s in the upcoming web series Dil Bekarar,  to be streamed on Disney Hotstar from November 26.

Among the five daughters of the Thakur family,  that were presented by the Dil Bekarar Trailer,  unveiled by Disney Hotstar yesterday,  Debjani Thakur comes across as the most mature.

Trailer of the web series presented Debjani Thakur as a forward looking woman of the 80s with a  mind of her own.

Ahead of the premiere of the web series,  Sahher Bambba,  who has been getting rave reviews for effectively coming across as a forward looking 80s woman in the Dil Bekarar Trailer, said that playing Debjani Thakur has been an enriching experience for her.

“My character Debjani Thakur might be a character from the 80s, but she’s way ahead of her times. She’s raised in a progressive family where she’s taught to speak her mind. She draws inspiration from events in her life and is undeterred to take charge. Simply to witness the 80s as a forward-thinking woman of her own will was an enriching experience and I am sure the audiences will relate to battles she chooses to fight,'Sahher Bambba said.

Sahher,  who made her debut in Bollywood with the romantic film Pal Pal Dil Ke paas, where she starred opposite Sunny Deol's son Karan Deol, won plaudits from audiences as well as critics for her performance as the graceful and dignified Maaham, the wife of Mughal Emperor Babar, in the web series The Empire 

A family drama based on bestseller novel Those Pricey Thakur Girls written by the very popular author Anuja Chauhan, Dil Bekarar is the sweet and sour story of Delhi’s Thakur family set in 1980s Delhi.

Directed by Habib Faisal,  who also directed the highly acclaimed DO Dooni Chaar,  starring Neetu Kapoor opposite late Rishi Kapoor,  Dil Bekarar stars
  Raj Babbar, Poonam Dhillon, Sahher Bambba and Akshay Oberoi.

Produced by Sobo Films , Dil Bekarar also features Sukhmani Sadana, Padmini Kolhapure, Suhel Seth and Chandrachur Singh in pivotal roles.

It is a light hearted drama series that unravels the day to day life of the Thakur family ' Justice Laxmi Narayan Thakur,  his wife Mamta and their five beautiful but troublesome daughters.

The trailer of Dil Bekarar,  unveiled by Disney Hotstar,  provides viewers a peek into the crazy life of the Thakur family with Justice Laxmi Narayan Thakur and his wife Mamta spending their days watching anxiously over their five beautiful (but troublesome daughters,  each one of them having their own tantrums and their own style.

The most mature of the Thakur girls is Debjani Thakur (Sahher Bambba) , who works as a news anchor.  The trailer takes viewers through the sweet and sour love story of Debjani,  nicknamed Dabbu, with a journalist,  played by Akshay Oberoi.

Dil Bekarar features Raj Babbar as Justice Laxmi Narayan Thakur and Poonam Dhillon as his wife Mamta.

Dil Bekarar is set in the graceful colonial Delhi, struggling to shed the past, excitedly looking forward to a liberalized future.

Brought out by Harper Collins,  Anuja Chauhan's novel Those Pricey Thakur Girls is the story of Justice Laxmi Narayan Thakur and his wife Mamta and then five beautiful but troublesome daughters.

Living in the sprawling bungalow on New Delhi's posh Hailey Road, Justice Laxmi Narayan Thakur and his wife Mamta spend their days watching anxiously over their five beautiful (but troublesome) alphabetically named daughters.Anjini, Binodini, Chandrakanta, Eshwari and Debjani.

While Anjini is married but an incorrigible flirt; Binodini is very worried about her children's hissa in the family property. The third daughter is Chandrakanta, who eloped with a foreigner on the eve of her wedding; while the fourth daughter is Eshwari, who is just a little too popular at Modern School, Barakhamba Road; and the Judge's favourite. The fifth daughter is the quietly fiery Debjani, champion of all the stray animals on Hailey Road, who reads the English news on DD.

Disney Hotstar had last week unveiled the teaser of the web series.
