YRF's Prithviraj promises grand saga of fearless warrior Prithviraj Chauhan and his epic love story

Continuing with the trend of riveting and grand sagas of fearless warriors whose name is imprinted in India's glorious history ,  Yashraj Films' upcoming venture Prithviraj promises a grand action spectacle that tells the story of fearless warrior and his epic love story with Samyogita.

Ahead of the release of the film, which is set to hit cinema halls on eve of Republic Day next year,  Yashraj films today unveiled a teaser of the film that features Akshay Kumar in the title role with former Miss World Manushi Chillar playing the role of his beloved Sanyogita.

Unveiling the teaser of the film,  Yashraj films said, 'A fearless warrior. An epic love story. Witness the grand saga of Samrat #Prithviraj Chauhan. Celebrate #Prithviraj with #YRF50 only at a big screen near you on 21st January ’22.'

The teaser of Prithviraj sees Akshay Kumar make a grand entry as emperor Prithviraj Chauhan whose very name spelt terror  among his enemies.

Introducing Prithviraj Chauhan to the audience,  the teaser says, 'a man who is followed by 100 soldiers shimmering blood and 100 courtiers  who are ready to die for the country and its honour,  he is the mighty king Prithviraj Chauhan .

Prepare for the welcome. The Lion of Hindustan is arriving..'

The teaser shows Prithviraj locked in a battle with Mohammad Ghori. It also provides us with glimpse of the ethereal Manushi Chillar as Prithviraj Chauhan's beloved Samyogita.

The teaser welcomes viewers to watch the grand saga of India’s biggest Samrat (king) Prithviraj Chauhan,  who proved an impregnable foe for the foreign invader Mohammad Ghori.

A period drama based on life of Prithviraj Chauhan,  Prithviraj is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and produced by Yashraj films.

It features Akshay Kumar as Prithviraj Chauhan while Manushi Chillar,  who is making her Bollywood debut with the film,  plays Prithviraj Chauhan's beloved wife Samyogita.

Prithviraj Chauhan also stars Sanjay Dutt,  Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana,  Sakshi Tanwar and Manav Vij in  pivotal roles.

Prithviraj features Manav Vij as Mohammad Ghori while Ashutosh Rana plays the role of Prithviraj Chauhan's rival Jayachanda.

The film is based on Prithviraj Raso, a Braj Bhasha epic poem about the life of Prithviraj Chauhan

It is notable that Prithviraj Chauhan repulsed the early invasions by Muhammad  Ghori, a ruler of the Muslim Ghurid dynasty. However, in 1192 AD, Mohammad  Ghori defeated Prithviraj at the Second battle of Tarain.

Prithviraj Chauhan's defeat at Tarain is seen as a landmark event in the Islamic conquest of India.
