Tadap continues its buoyant run at box office,  earns over Rs 20 cr in its opening week

Continuing with its buoyant run at the box office,  Sajid Nadiadwala's Tadap earned over Rs 20 cr in its opening week across India.

Tadap,  which stars Suneil Shetty's son Ahan Shetty in the lead opposite Tara Sutaria,  earned Rs 1.5 cr on Thursday,  taking its total earnings in its opening week to Rs 20.50 cr.

Tadap,  which earned Rs 4 cr on its opening day on December 3 despite the presence of  lesser known stars - a debutant actor Ahan Shetty and an upcoming actress Tara Sutaria- collected Rs 13 cr in its opening weekend and has continued to hold its own during the week days.

Infact,  Tadap performed better on its opening day compared to big starrers like Bunty Aur Babli2 and Satyameva Jayate 2.

A large portion of the earnings of the film in its opening week has come from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

Trade experts said that it is the youth oriented theme of the film,  coupled with a raw and intense portrayal by Ahan Shetty,  that has contributed to the decent opening of the film.

The film has drawn a  large number of youth to the cinemas,  especially in the small towns outside the big metro.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Milan Lutharia,  Tadap marks the Bollywood debut of Suniel Shetty's son Ahan Shetty.

Ahan Shetty has got praise and acclaim from audiences as well as critics for his raw and intense portrayal in the film.

The promos and trailer of the film had evoked praise from people in the film industry,, including superstars Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan., South Indian superstar Mohan Lal and Tollywood superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee.

A romantic action thriller Directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of  Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Tadap is a remake of the Telugu film RX 100 (2018).

 Tadap takes us through the story of Ishaana (Ahan Shetty) who lives in Mussoorie in Uttarakhand. A meeting with the foreign returned Ramisa sees Ishaana falling madly in love with her. However,  circumstances lead to them getting separated . Unable to accept separation from Ramisa, Ishaana wreaks havoc on those keeping him away from his live.

The film, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala in association with Fox Star Studios, also stars Saurabh Shukla and Kumud Misra in pivotal roles.
